In this Back to Basics class, you will learn the basics of color mixing, discover the different effects that can be achieved with various brushes & palette/painting knives and techniques to bring your subjects to life by incorporating dimension, ensuring that they appear realistic and three-dimensional on the canvas. Materials Needed: set of acrylic paints, two to three acrylic paint brushes, a canvas pad or a few stretched canvases of any size and a container to hold tap water.

This community education initiative aims to shed light on the incredible potential and abilities of individuals on the autism spectrum, focusing particularly on their integration into the workplace. From communication techniques to sensory integration methods, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to create an inclusive and supportive environment in the workplace, fostering growth and success for individuals with ASD.ess for individuals with ASD.

In this drawing class, you will have the opportunity to develop your drawing skills from the ground up. We will explore how to see your subjects as basic shapes, placing your subject on paper using simple angles, seeing the negative space and measuring tricks that will further enhance your drawing accuracy. Materials Needed: graphite drawing pencil set, a stick of charcoal, a set of colored pencils and chalk pastels, a sketch-book or sketch pad and kneaded eraser.

Throughout the course, you'll be guided through a series of exercises and prompts that are specifically designed to ignite your creativity. From setting yourself up for success with a daily drawing habit to exploring different materials and sketchbook recommendations, we cover all the essentials to ensure you have a fulfilling artistic journey. In this two-week community education course, we will dive into the world of gouache and explore its versatility as a medium. Unlike traditional watercolor, gouache can be used to create bold and graphic looks. Through various mark-making exercises, we will create a library of inspiration and experiment with patterns. This Back to Basics Illustration class is the perfect opportunity to delve into the creative process like never before. You will be guided through the basics of sketching and color, texture and lighting effects. You'll learn how to brainstorm original concepts, quickly sketch out your ideas, and use inking and color to add depth and intensity to your illustrations.
