Knitting For Community
A multi-generational, enthusiastic group of experienced and novice knitters began gathering to share skills and help warm others with what they are making. Come and learn to knit a scarf if you are just a beginner. In our group, we have developed skills for knitting the 1898 Seaman’s Institute Hat and mittens, either with single or double pointed patterns. All who participate are happy to share their skills and experience with you. The results will be shared on the “warm (mitten/hat/scarf) tree” at the Moorhead Public Library where people are free to take what they need when colder weather arrives. We have donated yarn and needles. While you’re learning, you’ll make new friends and make the world a better place for those in need of warmth and support. The group will meet three times and has limited space; sign up early and for one or more sessions.
