Create a resilient yard to sustain the Red River by making and painting your own rain barrel. This is a two-day workshop. On day one, participants will hear a short presentation about the basics of water quality and the effects of stormwater runoff, sand and put a base coat on their barrel. The second day, participants will build and paint their rain barrel. Come prepared to bring home an empty 55-gallon barrel. Wear clothes you don't mind painting in and dress for the weather. Participants need a drill to install the rain barrel at home. Fee includes all other supplies.
